ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT IN THE MINING INDUSTRY

1. Corporate Policy

PT Barinto Coal is committed to achieving standards in environmental, social, and safety management in all its operations in order to optimize work performance and create a safe, healthy, sustainable, and harmonious working environment. Occupational safety and health are of paramount importance in coal mining activities. Therefore, our actions are aimed at:

· Complying with Indonesian laws and regulations regarding environmental, social, and safety management in the mining industry, and upholding applicable human rights.

· Preventing accidents, occupational diseases, environmental pollution, and social issues by implementing comprehensive environmental, social, and safety management programs.

· Ensuring the viability and safety of the company's assets and applying comprehensive safety concepts to minimize disruptions to the sustainability of our operations, thereby providing a safe, efficient, and productive working environment.

· Establishing environmental, social, and safety management systems within the mining operations to identify, assess, and control risks, as well as their impacts on employees, the environment, and society.

· Supporting health initiatives to prevent infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS, as well as the abuse of narcotics, alcohol, psychotropic substances, and other addictive materials.

· Regularly reviewing the policies and implementation of environmental, social, and safety management within the mining operations to ensure continuous improvement in performance.

2. Rights and Obligations of Employees

· Emergency response mechanisms

All personnel entering the workplaces and operational areas of PT Barinto Coal will be provided with free Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear, which must be used correctly. In addition to proper use and suitability for their intended purpose, the equipment must also be properly stored within its valid period to prevent damage.

3. Mining Safety Management System

PT Barinto Coal strictly adheres to government regulations regarding the implementation, assessment, and reporting of mining safety management systems. This reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility and the protection of the safety, health, and well-being of our employees.

The system adopts the K3 mining management approach and the KO framework, comprising seven key elements: policy, planning, organization and personnel, implementation, assessment and follow-up, documentation, and management review and performance improvement. PT Barinto Coal places great emphasis on the safety and health of its employees and continuously evaluates various safety and health programs. The results of these evaluations serve as an important basis for future actions aimed at preventing and addressing potential hazards and diseases throughout the company.
