ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
All mining activities conducted by Barinto are managed through a comprehensive environmental management system, aimed at minimizing any potential impact on the environment.
From land clearance, topsoil removal, overburden excavation, coal extraction, backfilling of the overburden, landscape restoration, redistribution of topsoil, vegetation restoration, waste management, to the construction of residential areas and office buildings, as well as port operations – every stage is subject to thorough environmental management and supervision in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment and Management System (AMDAL) and relevant regulatory requirements.
Barinto’s environmental management system was designed and developed to meet the minimum requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard. The implementation of this system ensures regular environmental monitoring, including the assessment of water quality, air quality, Class B3 waste, dust levels, and noise levels. It also guarantees the proper protection of natural resources, as well as responsible land reclamation and recycling practices.
The system is periodically evaluated and updated to ensure that it remains relevant and effective in light of the company’s development and the ongoing progress of the mining industry, particularly in the coal sector.
